ILIGAN CITY, November 15, 2017 – During the simultaneous conduct of Gift Giving for the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) by Duyog Marawi (DM), Barangay Chairman Muhammad Muid Zacaria, Sultan of Tugaya, Lanao del Sur announced that the gifts will be distributed solely to the evacuees.

Zacaria publicized, “Tala billah ko Allah ka Haram rakn oba ako kowa sangaya relief goods a pamemegayan sa bakwit” (Verily, it’s forbidden for me to get from these relief goods (gifts) for the evacuees.”

A total of 650 IDP, beneficiaries, from Lilod Madaya, Balindong and Barangay Campong Talao, Barangay Tangkal, and Barangay Dilimbayan of Tugaya received gift packs from DM in cooperation with Muamar Ibrahim representing the Barangay Chairman of Lilod Madaya, Balindong and Zacaria, Barangay Chairman of Dilimbayan, Tugaya.

Zacaria, while manning the distribution of gifts at Barangay Dilimbayan, expressed his gratitude to DM for the gift giving as it is a big help for the evacuees in their place.

He expressed, “panalamatan ami skano… a myakawma sii sa gyangkae a pamemegayan iyo sa gya langon a kikareregenan… balabalasan kano o Allah” (We thank you all (DM)… for being here with your gifts for those in hardship (evacuees)… may Allah (God) bless you all.)

Each gift pack include10 kilos of rice from the Archdiocese of Iloilo ( for Balindong)and the National Shrine of Our Mother Of Perpetual Help in Baclaran (for Tugaya) and a blanket from Singapore Airlines.

Prior to the distribution of gifts, psychosocial activities for youth and women were conducted along with peace education modules  and feeding programs for the children at Lilod Madaya, Balindong, Lanao del Sur. (AM Acmad / Duyog Marawi News)
