Their body pains were addressed by the transdermal therapy where the liquid mineral, Magnesium, was applied to the painful areas.

“Nagkaroon ng relief sa pangangatawan ko at   pag-iisip ko (My body and mind have been relieved from pain) …Now, I can still go on and do my work.” Abdul-azis Dimasindil, project staff for Peace Education, similarly felt better with the Mineral therapy after drinking a glass of water mixed with three sprays of Magnesium.

He shared, “nawala bigla ‘yung sakit ng ulo ko then naglagay si Dok doon sa likod ko ng Magnesium with massage so ‘yun nawala bigla.” (my headache disappeared and when ma’am (Dr. Cruz) sprayed Magnesium salt on my back and massaged it,  my back pain was relieved )

The therapy was meant to relieve the staff from occupational stress and from other forms of stressors especially those from their work of responding to the needs and concerns of the IDPs of the Marawi Siege.

“It is a Mineral Therapy for Stress & Pain with Cognition meaning there is understanding of the roles of the minerals in the body and empowerment through experiential learning” said Dr. Cruz.

Dr. Cruz added that, “Ecotherapy is integrated in the whole package hence we are at the beach for earthing, sunlight, oxygen, fun and nourishment”

The staff were also given one bottle of Magnesium Salt Spray that they can use to address stress and manage pain whenever they felt it.
